A Wasted Life Down But Not Out As Creator Joins New Team

A Wasted LifeOver the weekend, A Wasted Life, the zombie survival game created by Robert Dishong, failed to reach its funding goal of $5,000 on Kickstarter. The game looked interesting but failed to garner a large enough base of support in order to be fully funded.

In a recent update to Facebook, Robert has explained that A Wasted Life will have to be put on hiatus until further notice.

Bad news, AWL is on hiatus until I can gather a team to help me with this project. It’s too hard to do alone, takes too much of my personal time, and without help I would just end up frustrated and scrapping it altogether. But I’m not going to do that. I will return to AWL when I feel I can give it the care and work it deserves.

But there is some pretty great news to come from this. Robert’s work on A Wasted Life got him noticed by another team and he will be joining them as they work on their zombie survival game.

I’ve started working with The Fun Pimps on their project 7 Days to Die. This will be my first paid job as a game developer and is a huge step forward in my career.

Having AWL directly affected me getting work in the gaming industry and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that. Thanks again to everyone.

In the meantime, check out 7 Days to Die. It’s like Dayz and Minecraft had a love child. I think it’s awesome and play it quite often.

7 Days to Die by The Fun Pimps recently held a Kickstarter funding campaign and raised over $500,000 towards the further development of its take on zombie survival crossed with crafting. It is great that Robert was able to use his own experience to start work on such a hugely successful Kickstarted game. This story shows that even those less than successful times in game development can be used to further your career and business. We wish him luck in his career and hope to see A Wasted Life come to fruition at some point.
