crowdfunding Indiegogo KickstarterEvery Monday, We link to the crowdfunding pages of games from Oklahoma developers and other interesting crowdfunding projects from Oklahomans. Music, comics, table-top games and more. If it might be of interest to gamers and game developers we will show them off.

Here is the primary list of crowdfunding campaigns:

Funding Closed:

Spheroid by From Soy Sauce is billed as a retro style game inspired by Metroid, Bionicle and Beast Wars. This is being made by a trio of brothers in between college courses. Spheroid closed over the weekend far short of its goal. However, they were using IndieGogo’s flexible funding model and will keep most of the funds raised. They sought $7,150 to finish the game and ended with $1,157 raised.

Currently Funding:

Nadir’s Zenith Issues 4 and 5 by Jackson Compton and Jerry Bennett. “MANKIND LEFT FOR THE STARS WITH RECKLESS ABANDON. Follow the galactic adventures of IPC Space Marshal, Captain John Nadir!” They are seeking $13,000 to publish the 4th and 5th installments of the comic. They have raised $901 with about 2 days left.

The Magi and the Sleeping Star by Game Equals Life. This is a fantasy themed game which the creator Adam Grantham hopes will help kids with Diabetes to better manage their disease. They are seeking $200,000 and have raised $5,106 with 17 days remaining. While this one is not an Oklahoma based Kickstarter, it was an idea that I first learned about while Adam was living in Oklahoma.

New Projects:

BMOG: Bio-Mechanical Ordnance Gestalts by Trent Troop. Robot animals that disassemble into arsenals of 5mm accessories compatible with dozens of vintage and modern toy lines. This fun looking action figure line is seeking $19,000 to produce the first run of the two featured toys. They have already raised $5,465 with 32 days left.

That’s it for this week. I will be sure to keep you posted on the progress of these and any new ones that pop up.
