Monday Morning Crowdfunding Report: April 21, 2014

crowdfunding Indiegogo Kickstarter

Every Monday, We link to the crowdfunding pages of games from Oklahoma developers and other interesting crowdfunding projects from Oklahomans. Music, comics, table-top games and more. If it might be of interest to gamers and game developers we will show them off.

Before I get to the actual campaign, I want to share some upsetting news from IndieGogo. They have made it even more difficult than it was before to look for projects from Oklahoma. I use to use the general search box to look for Oklahoma projects. This box would look at all data from a project and return anything with Oklahoma in it. Now, the search box only searches the Title of the project and not all the project data as before.

Additionally, the project summaries no longer have the location on them. So now, the only way to see if a project is from Oklahoma or any specific region is to open them one at a time and check them. This makes searching for projects in the gaming section to be incredibly time consuming and beyond my ability to do effectively.

IndieGogo has been made aware of these issues on Twitter, but I am unsure of when or what kind of change will come to make this easier.

So from this point on, our Monday Morning Crowdfunding Report will be primarily Kickstarter unless someone tells me about an IndieGogo campaign that is of interest and from Oklahoma. It sucks as there are some good ones there from time to time.

Now back to our regularly scheduled report.

Here is the primary list of crowdfunding campaigns:

Currently Funding:

Duel of Heroes by Totally Awesome Games. A fantasy trading card MMO with RPG elements blended in. TAG moved the game to IndieGogo and has adjusted the amount they are seeking. They are seeking $10,000 and have raised $225 with 16 days left. This game really needs your support to happen.

AIM 8bit Playing Cards by Kamau Exom. This playing card deck takes on an “8bit” theme. The images on them are a 2d/3d hybrid style. They are seeking $8,000 and have raised $3,007 with 6 days left.

Custom Game Dice by Custom Game Lab. This project allows backers to design their own six-sided dice for anything they want. This campaign will allow the creator to continue offering custom dice in the future. They are seeking $20,000 and have raised $28,718 with 20 days left.

That’s it for this week. I will be sure to keep you posted on the progress of these and any new ones that pop up.
