Monday Morning Crowdfunding Report: September 16, 2013

crowdfunding Indiegogo KickstarterEvery Monday, We link to the crowdfunding pages of games from Oklahoma developers and other interesting crowdfunding projects from Oklahomans. Music, comics, table-top games and more. If it might be of interest to gamers and game developers we will show them off.

Looks like we are hitting a slight slump this week with few new and interesting campaigns hitting Kickstarter and IndieGogo. If you are running one on an alternative site, or just think we may have overlooked you, please contact us and let us know.

Here is the primary list of crowdfunding campaigns:

Amerika by Historical Board Gaming, is an alternative history board game based on the idea that the Axis armies gained the upper hand in the World War 2 and have invaded the US. On Friday, Amerika failed to reach its funding goal of $30,000. It raised $22,473 but will not get any due to Kickstarter’s all or nothing approach to crowdfunding. We hope for all the best with Historical Board Gaming’s next project.

Ethics of Dragon Slaying by Andrew Reddin is a children’s picture book using a dragon slaying metaphor for teaching children morals and ethics. Seeking $5,000 and has raised $332 with 3 days to go. This project doesn’t look like it will be hitting its funding goal.

Cycle by Christopher Warman is a sci-fi drama short film about a man seeking to find a way to save the life of his wife. Seeking $1,200 and has raised the full amount as of this writing with 4 days to go. Congrats to Christopher Warman for the success.

New addition:

Zap-Kapow! by Steve Roop is a comic book pricing app for smart phones. Steve is looking to bring his iPhone app to Android devices. He is looking for $65,000. His project has 29 days to go.

That’s it for this week. I will be sure to keep you posted on the progress of these and any new ones that pop up.
